Free LinkedIn Courses

Did you know that LinkedIn is offering to help you find that dream job by providing opportunities for growth and learning with online courses that are free for the month of January 2019?

LinkedIn recently studied hundreds of thousands of job postings to identify the skills that companies require the most in 2019. The results revealed that employers are searching for workers who have both soft skills and hard technical skills. Then, LinkedIn matched these skills with LinkedIn Learning courses that they are offering for free for the month of January.

Most In-Demand Skills

The five most in-demand soft skills in 2019 are:

  • Creativity

  • Persuasion

  • Collaboration

  • Adaptability

  • Time Management

The five most in-demand hard skills in 2019 are:

  • Cloud Computing

  • Artificial Intelligence

  • Analytical Reasoning

  • People Management

  • UX Design

What This Means

Paul Petrone, editor of LinkedIn Learning, says this year’s list reveals a change in the priorities of employers worldwide. He says, “Interestingly, the newcomers to our list were uniquely human traits: Among soft skills, creativity and adaptability joined the list for the first time, and among hard skills, people management was a new addition.”

“While digital skills like cloud computing and artificial intelligence topped the list of hard skills companies need most, the emergence of these three new skills suggests that employers recognize the importance of embracing modern technologies as well as recognizing those things technology can’t do: connect with other people, engage in out-of-the-box thinking and quickly adapt to new priorities or problems.”

Workers who focus on these in-demand skills will surely catch the attention of employers and remain in-demand.
